Communications Policy

The following policy applies to phone and text messaging communications between Ichor Research and current or potential study participants or volunteers. 

 

 

Ichor Research may use SMS text messaging to communicate with current or potential study participants or volunteers.  The purpose of SMS use is to provide a convenient format for scheduling appointments or routine, non-essential, non-urgent communications.  

The following are requirements of our staff and patients participating in texting: 

 

• SMS text messaging should not be used to communicate urgent matters, including health concerns or health emergencies.   

• Ichor text numbers, including the main clinic line at 315-904-5004, are not monitored consistently or outside of business hours for text message communications.   

• All urgent matters must be communicated by phone call to our main number: 315-904-5004.  For urgent calls after hours, follow the prompts for urgent issues and our call center will reach out to study staff for follow up. This is not immediate and may take time for clinic staff to get back to you. For this reason, in the case of an emergency, always dial 911.
