This page is your starting point to help you understand what research is, how it fits into your care model, and what the journey into clinical trials looks and feels like. â€‹

We are so glad you are here.

What is clinical research?

The process of getting a medication approved for use in the USA is a long one. Many drugs can take a decade or longer of testing before they are made available to the public. Clinical trials are the studies of investigational medications where we, as researchers, can understand the benefits and risks of the therapeutic.

For many people with diseases that have no cure, like Alzheimer's disease, patients and families can participate and potentially get access to investigational medications before they are approved.

Clinical trials, the procedures, and the treatments, are always at no cost to the patient.

Step 1: Reach out.

Step 2: Understand your options.

Step 3: You decide.

The first step is a conversation. We want to hear about you and what you are going through. We can spend time discussing our work and answering any questions you have about clinical trials.

Clinical research does not use your insurance, and only those who meet very specific criteria will be qualified to enroll. Our research coordinators will work with you to understand your medical history and to present any clinical trials that may benefit you.

It's important to understand that clinical trials are not meant to replace the care you receive from your current doctors. Our work is supplemental to your primary care and specialists. We are happy to provide information to your doctors about the trials you qualify for so that you, your family, and your care team have everything you need to make the best decision for you.

The choice to participate is always yours.
